Art is how I say thank you—for beauty, for harmony, for the quiet unity that binds all living things. Nature is my primary inspiration, but I’m also inspired by the freedom to explore, to play, to try something new. I invite you to view my gallery and learn more about me.

ABOUT
I knew I wanted to be an artist before I knew what an artist was. As a child, I was spellbound by the illustrations in my storybooks and knew I wanted to make “beautiful pictures” like the ones in my books. Life, however, had its own plans. I spent several years working as a rehabilitation counselor, helping others find their footing, all while hoping that at some point, I would find my own footing. Eventually, I took the leap, left my job, and returned to college to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. From there, I worked as a graphic designer, taught at a local university, hosted art classes in my home studio, and led workshops through our city’s tourism department. I loved teaching, but over time, I felt the need to return to what had inspired me all along—the joy of creating. That’s how the Sunwoven Art collection was born. Each piece is modest in size and price, with the goal of bringing original art into people’s everyday lives without making it feel out of reach. I also enjoy working on a larger scale, and more recently, I've been exploring abstract and intutive approaches to art. Most days, you’ll find me working in my studio, music playing (anything from country to opera), with two cats watching over me—completely unimpressed by my music or my progress. But still, they stay, as if on some level they want to be a part of the creative process.
